REPLY:
There is currently one case relating to misappropriation
of state funds and two cases of misuse of state resources
being investigated within the Department. The ranks
of the affected officials are a Deputy Director, a Director
and an Assistant Director. The case against the Deputy
Director involves misappropriation of funds and the
investigation was conducted on 13 August 2004. The two
cases of misuse of state property involve a service
vehicle and an official car by the Director and the
Assistant Director. The investigations were launched
27 November 2003 and 13 August 2004 respectively. Since
the officials have not been found guilty yet, the sub
judice principle should be applied and their names accordingly
withheld.
