MR LB LABUSCHAGNE TO ASK THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS:
(a) What total amount did her department and/or ministry
(I) budget for and (ii) spend on (aa) advertising and
(bb) other specified activities related to the celebration
of 10 Years of Democracy from the date that the election
date was gazetted up to and including the election day
and (b) what specified media and/or publications were
used to publicise the campaign around the celebration
of 10 Years of Democracy? N92E

REPLY:
(a) (I) The Department of Foreign Affairs did not budget
any money for the said purpose.
(ii) aa, bb, b:
(aa) As a matter of policy the Department of Foreign
Affairs does not advertise, except in specific cases.
Therefore in response to the first part of the question,
no amount of money was utilised for advertising purposes
from the 10 Year Celebrations budget.
(bb) No amount of money was spent on specified media
and or publications from the 10 years of Democracy budget.
(b) No amount of money from the Department of Foreign
Affairs was utilised for media and or publications.
