MR LB LABUSCHAGNE (DA) TO ASK THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS:


(1) (a) How many incidents of an alleged criminal nature involving South African diplomatic personnel and other persons claiming South African Immunity abroad occurred in (i) 2000, (ii) 2001, (iii) 2003, and 2004 and (b) what was the nature of the incident or incidents that led to the claiming of immunity by South African personnel;

(2) (a) How many incidents of an alleged criminal nature involving foreign diplomatic personnel and other foreigners claiming diplomatic immunity in South Africa occurred in (i) 2000, (ii) 2001, (iii) 2002, (iii) 2003, and (iiii) 2004 and (b) what is the nature of the incident or incidents that led to the claiming of immunity by foreign personnel in South Africa.

(b) The incident occurred in 2000 involved sexual harassment of the cabin crew, use of abusive
language and disruptive behaviour in aircraft.

2(a) (i) One

(v) Five

(b) Allegations included fraud, shoplifting, domestic violence, negligent loss of fire arm, public disturbance, drunken driving, culpable homicide, assault grave bodily harm, indecent assault, assault.
