(1) (a) How many South African citizens are employed by the United Nations (UN) and its agencies and,
(b) in which UN bodies are these persons employed;
(2) whether there is a country quota for employment by the UN and its agencies; if not, why not; if so,
(a) what is the South African quota and

Question 1 :
- 102 employees of South African origin / nationality.
- The South Africans are employed in the following UN agencies and bodies;
Department of Political Affairs (DPA)
Department of Disarmament Affairs (DDA)
Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO)
UN Habitat
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
