| The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, to host CEOs of SA Companies operating outside the borders of South Africa The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, to host several Chief Executive Officers of South African companies operating their business outside the borders of the country. The working breakfast will be held this morning at the Sandton Sun on 23 November 2010. Minister Nkoana-Mashabane will host the CEOs in an endeavour to strengthen strategic relations with these entities within the context of South Africa’s economic diplomacy initiative. In this context Minister will use the working breakfast as a platform for engagements with the CEOs of South African companies which are increasingly investing and looking for more investment opportunities outside the borders of the Republic in a bid to benefit from favourable international markets. “It is our view that our engagements with the CEOs from different companies will help us as DIRCO to have a clear understanding of challenges faced by our private sector entities operating outside our borders such as the impact of political instability, unfavourable regulatory regimes and a host of other non-trade barriers in some of the countries. We, as Government, will then look at developing intervention mechanisms that can benefit them.” For more information, please contact the Chief Director for Public Diplomacy, Mr Saul Kgomotso Molobi, on 082 940 1647, +27 12 351 0083 or e-mail him at molobisk@dirco.gov.za.
