President Zuma sends condolences to the Democratic Republic of the Congo

On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency President Jacob Zuma has expressed his sincere condolences to His Excellency President Joseph Kabila Kabange and the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) following a railroad accident that occurred in Katanga, south eastern DRC, on Tuesday, 23 April 2014, which left more than 60 people killed and many injured.

President Zuma said: “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life and livelihoods. The thoughts of the people of South Africa are with the families and friends of the victims of this tragic accident. We wish those injured in the accident a speedy recovery.”
