MR S MOKGALAPA (DA) TO ASK THE MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND COOPERATION:
(a) Which posts in her department are vacant in the (i) highly skilled, (ii) highly skilled supervision and (iii) senior and top management levels and (b) in each case, what has been the duration of the vacancy? NW1990E
Reply:
(a) Number of posts vacant as at 30 September 2014:
(i) Highly skilled levels (SR 6 – 8): 120 posts
(ii) Highly skilled supervision levels (SR 9 – 12): 156 posts
(iii) Senior and Top Management levels (SR 13 – 16): 35 posts
(b) (i) Highly skilled levels (SR 6 – 8)*
The 120 posts have been vacant for an average period of 2 years.
(ii) Highly Skilled Supervision Levels (SR 9 – 12)*
The 156 posts have been vacant for an average period of 2 years.
*The Department has completed a proposed Organisational Structure which is currently being consulted with the Minister of DPSA. It is anticipated that once the Structure is approved, some of the posts will be abolished and new ones created as a result of re-defined purposes and functions of units in the new Structure.
(iii) Senior and Top Management levels (SR 13 – 16)
The 35 posts have been vacant for an average period of less than 1 year.
It should be noted that the majority of the SMS and Top Management level posts have been advertised and the Minister will shortly announce appointments to fill some of these vacancies.
