CONSULAR SERVICES |
- Certificate of authentication:
- The Consular Section can authenticate the signatures of the authorized officials in the Foreign Ministries of the United Arab Emirates to validate documents for use in South Africa.
- Same day service available on a Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday during Consular Hours (depending on the volume of documentation that is submitted).
- Documents submitted on a Monday or Thursday - collection will be the next working day, during Consular Hours.
- This service is free of charge.
- Attestation Services:
- The Consular Section can authenticate the signatures of the authorized officials in the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa.
- Procedure to follow:
Step 1: Public Notary (any lawyer) in South Africa
Step 2: Registrar of High Court in South Africa
Step 3: Department of Foreign Affairs, Pretoria
Step 4: Qatar Mission in Pretoria
- Certification of copies:
- Only original South African documents may be 'certified'.
- Requirements: Original South African issued document and copy of the document. The Commissioner of Oath will stamp and certify the copy as a 'true copy of the original' only.
Please take note that the Mission would not stamp / sign on an original document.
- Same day service available on a Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday during Consular Hours (depending on the volume of documentation that is submitted).
- Documents submitted on a Monday or Thursday - collection will be the next working day, during Consular Hours.
- Certification is free of charge.
- Signing documents in front of the Commissioner of Oath:
- South African documents only.
- Service available on a Monday and/or Thursday, by appointment only. (To be arranged via the Consular Section.)
- Requirements:
- Bring along your documents to be signed (do not sign at home, as you would be requested to sign the documents in the presence of the Commissioner of Oaths).
- NB: Bring along your original passport and/or identity document for identification purposes.
- Delivery period: Same day (you would have a personalized appointment with the Commissioner of Oath, whereby signing would be completed and binding done, while you wait in air-conditioned comfort and you would be able to take your documents with you!)
