Statement on the Death of a South African in Ethiopia

The Department of Foreign Affairs notes with deep regret the death of Alan Drotskie in Ethiopia on the evening of Tuesday, 19 February 2002.

The South African authorities in Ethiopia have assisted in bringing Mrs Drotskie and her children to Addis Ababa. They are currently hosted at the Hilton Hotel.

Further, South African authorities continue to assist Mrs Drotskie with arrangements as well as consulting with the family in South Africa regarding funeral arrangements of the deceased.
