Statement on Minister Dlamini Zuma Laying
Wreaths in Mamelodi, Pretoria
RE: ANC HUMAN RIGHTS FOCUS MONTH
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini
Zuma, will on Sunday 10 March at 11h30 visit the Mamelodi
cemetery, East of Pretoria in the context of the ANC
Human Rights focus month.
The Minister will in this regard, lay wreaths in memory
of several ANC cadres who were either executed, assassinated
and/ or died of natural causes. These include the graves
of the late second former President-General of the ANC
Samuel Mapogo Makgatho; Solomon Mahlangu and Benjamin
Moloise both cadres of the ANC who were executed by
the apartheid regime; Dr. Fabian and Florence Ribeiro
who were brutally murdered by agents of the apartheid
regime in 1986.
Prof. David Mosoma of the Swiss mission congregation
in Atteridgeville Pretoria will conduct the service
at the graveside. The service is scheduled to end at
13h00. The Mamelodi community was instrumental in organising
the function including the cleaning of the graves.
