Minister Dlamini Zuma to Lead Delegation to Ministerial Meeting of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will lead the South African delegation to a meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security to be held in Maputo, Mozambique, from 22-23 August 2002.

Minister Dlamini Zuma will be accompanied by the Minister of Defence, Mosiuoa Lekota and senior officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The following issues will be discussed at the meeting:

  • Review of the Political Situation in the Region
  • International Terrorism
  • Programme of Activities for the Organ
  • The Establishment of the Inter-state Politics and Diplomacy Committee
  • The meeting of the Inter-state Defence and Security Committee

The first meeting of the SADC Committee of Ministers of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security took place in Luanda on the 17th and 18th of December 2001.
