Statement on the Anniversary of the
Terror Attacks on the USA on 11 September 2001
On the occasion of the First Anniversary of the terrorist
attacks perpetrated on various cities of the USA on
September 11 2001, the South African Government joins
millions around world in solemn memory of all those
who lost their lives including our own Nick Rowe.
In this regard, our President Thabo Mbeki will lead
the South African government delegation which will include
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma
to the New York service in honour of the victims.
The South African Government reiterates its condemnation
of the Sept. 11 attacks and will continue to work within
the United Nations to fight against the scourge of international
terrorism.
