Minister Dlamini Zuma Arrives in Bali, Indonesia for the Final Preparatory Committee Meeting on the World Summit on Sustainable Development

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has today, 4th June 2002 arrived in Bali, Indonesia for the forth and final preparatory committee meeting on the World Summit on Sustainable Development to be hosted by South Africa from 26th August – 4th September 2002.

The meeting, to continue until 7th June 2002, is expected to develop the final agenda for the Johannesburg Summit.

Intergovernmental processes relating to: elements of the political document of the Summit; sustainable development governance, and any other outstanding matters related to the "implementation document"; and organisational matter of the Summit will be focused on.

Discussions of the various stakeholder groups as well as a ministerial delegation will be facilitated at the meeting

It is expected that PrepCom 4 will deliver:

Elements of the "political document"
Text of the agreed "implementation document"
Decisions on organisational matters related to the Summit
Summary of the ministerial meeting
Summary of the multi-stakeholder dialogue segment.
