WSSD: Statement on Attack on Swiss Delegate

HOUSE BREAKING – LONEHILL, JOHANNESBURG

The South African Police Service has appointed a task team of ten (10) experienced detectives to investigate a case of house breaking. The incident occurred on Sunday 2002-08-25 at 03:00 at a Guesthouse in Lonehill, Johannesburg, which is currently utilized by the Swiss delegation.

During the incident a shot was fired, but fortunately nobody was injured and the suspect fled without taking anything. The delegate involved wishes to remain anonymous and we respect that right. Victim support was provided to this delegate.

The Swiss embassy issued a statement about this unfortunate incident and stressed that this was an isolated incident. At present no arrests have been made.
