SAOM Executive Committee Meeting on the Zimbabwe Elections, 18 March 2002

The Executive Committee of the South African Observer Mission (SAOM) led by Dr Samuel Motsuenyane held its meeting in Pretoria today. The meeting was the first of its kind after the release of its interim statement in Zimbabwe.

The meeting decided among other things to hold a workshop of all 50 observers who participated in the electoral process in Zimbabwe to finalise the report, which will be handed over to the President. The workshop will be held in Pretoria early next week.

"As part of the ongoing process of consultation with all members of the mission, the Executive Committee is to hold a workshop which will approve the final report to be handed over to the President", said Dr Motsuenyane.
