Advisory: Deputy President to Visit Belgium

Deputy President Jacob Zuma will visit Belgium from the 9th to the 11th of April 2003. His visit will focus largely on generating Belgian support for the Burundi peace process.

The Deputy President will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister, Luis Michel, and will discuss with him matters relating to the implementation of ceasefire agreements, the preparations regarding the deployment of the African Mission peacekeeping force, as well as other matters relating to the second phase of the Burundi peace process which begins on the 1st of May with the swearing in of a new President from the Hutu political family.

The Deputy President will depart on the 9th and return to South Africa on the 11th of April.
