Statement on Plane Crash in Iran
The South African Government has learned with shock
of an Iranian military plane that crashed in mountainous
terrain in south-eastern Iran, killing all 302 military
personnel and crew on board in what seems to be that
country's worst ever air disaster.
During these trying moments the South African Government
share in the pain and suffering of those who were affected
by this disaster.
The South African Government extends its condolences
to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic
of Iran, members of the bereaved families, friends and
colleagues.
