Advisory: Goodwill Ambassador, Dr Mariam Makeba to Launch Skills Transfer Project

The Goodwill Ambassador, Dr Miriam Makeba will launch the skills transfer project between the women of South Africa and West Africa (Mali, Senegal, Guinea) in Johannesburg on Thursday, 15th May 2003.

This project will involve South African women teaching their counterparts from West Africa beadwork while those from West Africa will teach the South African women skills involved in weaving and mudcloth and tie and dye.

Officials from the Departments of Trade & Industry, Labour and Health will also interact with the delegation to provide training on how to start and maintain their own businesses, etc.
