Advisory: President Mbeki to Open International Tourism Indaba 2003

President Thabo Mbeki will Saturday, May 3 (19H00), open the International Tourism Indaba 2003 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban.

Indaba 2003, which is expected to attract people from all over the world, epitomizes the important role tourism is playing in growing the South African economy, and further places the African continent on the world map.

It comes at a time when South Africa is gearing itself for the hosting of the historical Africa Day celebrations, and thus points to the dawning reality that Africa's time has indeed dawned.
