Charles Bornstein - South Africa's Honorary Consul in the Province of Antwerp, Belgium

Ambassador Jerry Matjila of the South African Embassy to Belgium and Luxembourg and Mission to the European Communities is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Charles Bornstein as South Africa's Honorary Consul for the Belgian province of Antwerp. The appointment of Mr. Bornstein, a well-known businessman in Belgium as well as in South Africa, takes effect retroactively as from 30 August 2004.

Mr. Bornstein - former Chairman of the Antwerp-based Diamond High Council (DHC) - is a Board Member of the Beurs voor Diamanthandel and represents the Federation of Belgian Diamond Bourses in the DHC's Board of Directors.

In congratulating Mr. Bornstein, Ambassador Matjila said "Mr. Bornstein has the dynamism and will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to South Africa's presence and visibility in this important province of Belgium."
