President Thabo Mbeki to consult further with Leaders of Cote d' Ivoire

President Thabo Mbeki will on Thursday 11 November 2004 in Pretoria consult further with leaders of various political parties and formations representing a wide spectrum of political opinion within Cote d' Ivoire as part of efforts to find a political solution to Cote d' Ivoire.

President Mbeki visited Cote d' Ivoire on Tuesday 09 November in terms of an African Union mandate in consultation with Ecowas to assist the people of Cote d' Ivoire to find a political solutions the country current challenges.

In this regard, President Mbeki who was accompanied by Minister Mosiuoa Lekota and Deputy Minister Aziz Pahad met with President Laurent Gbagbo in Abidjan. President Mbeki expressed his pleasure at President Gbagbo's commitment to the implementation of the Linas Marcoussis and Accra III Agreements to enable Cote D' Ivoire to move rapidly towards a transition
