President Mbeki Offers Congratulations
to Newly Appointed Prime Minister of Malta
President Thabo Mbeki, today, Monday - 29 March 2004
- conveyed the heartfelt congratulations of the government
and people of South Africa to Dr Lawrence Gonzi following
his appointment as the Prime Minister of Malta.
President Mbeki said, "It is with great pleasure
that I take this opportunity to convey to Your Excellency,
on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic
of South Africa, warm greetings and congratulations
upon your appointment as leader of the Nationalist Party
and as the new Prime Minister of Malta."
"It is my belief that the good relations that
exist between our two countries and peoples will be
further developed and consolidated under your able leadership."
"Please accept, Your Excellency, our best wishes
for your personal good health and a successful term
of office in the service of the Republic of Malta and
its people." concluded President Mbeki.
