Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Aziz Pahad to Attend SADC Council of Ministers Meeting,
Arusha, Tanzania, 12 - 13 March 2004
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aziz Pahad, and
the Minister of Provincial and Local Government, Sydney
Mufamadi will represent South Africa at the SADC Council
of Ministers Meeting in Arusha, Tanzania from Friday
- Thursday, 12-13 March 2004.
Both Ministers Aziz Pahad and Sydney Mufamadi departed
from South Africa on Thursday, 11 March 2004.
During this meeting, representatives from SADC countries
will discuss various regional economic and social issues
including, among others:
- Progress on regional socio-economic activities and
the implementation of the SADC Regional Indicative
Strategic Development Plan
- Progress on the restructuring of SADC Institutions;
- Regional Food Security;
- Report on the African Union (AU) and the implementation
of NEPAD; and
- Arrangements regarding the SADC Consultative Conference.
