President Thabo Mbeki Congratulates Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero on His Election as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain

President Thabo Mbeki, today - Monday, 15 March 2004 - congratulated Jose Luis Rodriguez on his election as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain.

President Mbeki said, "It is my pleasure to convey to Your Excellency, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of South Africa, heartfelt congratulations on your election as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain."

"On behalf of the South African Government, I assure you of our support in the tasks that lie ahead and of our continued goodwill."

"I look forward to increased bilateral and multilateral co-operation in the years ahead," concluded President Mbeki.
