Foreign Affairs Confirms Identity of
Alleged South African Arrested in Thailand
The Department of Foreign Affairs has verified that
the suspect detained in Bangkok, Thailand on Thursday
20th May 2004 for the alleged possession of fake passports
is in fact not South African.
During the investigation by the South Africa diplomatic
Mission in Thailand it emerged that the suspect was
indeed travelling on a fake South African passport obtained
fraudulently.
It further emerged that the suspect is wanted by Interpol
for other related matters.
