Justice Albie Sachs Receives Award from Netherlands Auschwitz
Committee The Hague-Justice Albie Sachs on Thursday 27 January 2005 will
receive an award, the "Annetje Fels Kupferschidt award" from the Netherlands
Auschwitz Committee. Justice Sachs will also be a guest speaker at the "Nooit
meer Auschwitz-lezing" (Never an Auschwitz again lecture) organized by the
Netherlands Auschwitz Committee at the Beurs van Berlange in Amsterdam. Annetje
Fels Kupferschidt is the founder and Chair of the Netherlands Auschwitz Committee
from 1974 - 1994. She passed away in 2001. The Objectives of the Committee are
to: - ensure that the atrocities at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Camps never happen
again. - fight against all forms of fascism, racism and anti-semitism -
look after the welfare of the survivors of the holocaust and their families. Justice
Albie Sachs credentials on human rights are extra-ordinary. He is himself a victim
of racism policies. He lost his right arm and eye sight when the South African
Apartheid Agents bombed his car in Mozambique. Issued by: South African
