South Africa's Ambassador to Vienna Dies

PRETORIA - Death has once more robbed South Africa of an experienced and skilled diplomat with the passing away of South Africa's Ambassador to Vienna, Professor Alfred Moleah. Ambassador Moleah passed away on Saturday 28 May 2005 in Vienna following a heart attack. He was 68 years of age.

Professor Moleah joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in March 2001. He was the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Transkei and Professor of Political Science at the Temple University in Philadephia, USA.

The thoughts and prayers of the government and people of South Africa reach out to his family, friends and colleagues, and in particular his wife, Dr Thabisile Hlatwsayo Moleah, and the four children Thandeka, Modise, Buyelang and Mosupatsela during this trying moment of their life.

The Director-General Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba extends on behalf of President Thabo Mbeki, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, our Ambassadors and High Commissioners at home and abroad our heartfelt condolences to the entire Moleah family.
