Dlamini Zuma to attend Ministerial International Working Group on Côte d'Ivoire

Minister Dlamini Zuma will attend the second meeting of the Ministerial International Working Group on Côte d'Ivoire in Abidjan on Tuesday, 6 December 2005.

This would follow the visit to Côte d'Ivoire by Presidents Thabo Mbeki, Olusegan Obasanjo and Mamadou Tandja on Monday, 5 December 2005 where they are expected to assist the Côte d'Ivorians find a common candidate for the post of Prime Minister.

The Ministerial International Working Group on Côte d'Ivoire was created on the recommendation of the ECOWAS Summit held on 30 September 2005 and the AU Peace and Security Council Summit held in Addis Ababa on 6 October 2005.

The Ministerial Group is tasked with evaluating, controlling and monitoring the Ivorian Peace Process with special attention to the fulfillment of the commitments undertaken by the Ivorian parties.
