Deputy President Jacob Zuma to Attend Inauguration of John Agyekum Kufuor, Accra, Ghana Friday, 7 January 2005

PRETORIA - South African Deputy President Jacob Zuma will lead the South African delegation to the inauguration of the President-elect of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufuor, on Friday, 7 January 2005, in Accra, Ghana.

South Africa and Ghana maintain a warm, fraternal, strategic bilateral political and economic relationship. In this regard, during her recent visit to Ghana from 1-3 November 2004, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma signed Agreements on the Establishment of a Permanent Joint Commission and the Avoidance of Double Taxation together with her counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nana Akufo Addo.

Regarding economic relations, Ghana represents a major export markets for South African goods within the West African region.
