Minister Dlamini Zuma to Visit Guinea ahead of Scheduled Visit to Côte d'Ivoire

Bamako - South African Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will depart from Mali on Monday, 5 December 2005 for Guinea where she is scheduled to co-sign, with her counterpart Foreign Minister Sidibe Fatoumata Kaba, a General Co-operation Agreement between South Africa and Guinea.

Minister Dlamini Zuma will visit Guinea upon conclusion of her visit to Mali where she was accompanying President Thabo Mbeki to the 23rd Franco-Africa Summit.

The General Co-operation Agreement between South Africa and Guinea will lay the legal basis for regulating political, economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Upon conclusion of her visit to Guinea, Minister Dlamini Zuma will depart for Abidjan where she will attend the International Working Group on Côte d'Ivoire scheduled for Tuesday, 6 December 2005 as part of efforts by the African Union and the United Nations to assist the people of Côte d'Ivoire to find a political solution to their current challenges.
