Minister Dlamini Zuma Signs a General Co-operation Agreement
with the Republic of Guinea Ahead of the Official Visit to Côte d'Ivoire Bamako
- The South African Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and her Guinean
counterpart, Madame Sidibe Fatoumata KABA have on Sunday, 4 December 2005, on
the margins of the 23rd Africa-France Summit, signed a General Co-operation Agreement.
Minister Dlamini Zuma was scheduled to visit the Republic of Guinea on
Monday, 5 December 2005 for the signing of the Agreement, which subsequently took
place in Bamako, Mali, where the Minister had attend the 23rd Africa-France Summit,
as part of President Thabo Mbeki's delegation to the conference. The General
Co-operation Agreement between South Africa and Guinea will lay the legal basis
for regulating political, economic and trade relations between the two countries. Minister
Dlamini Zuma will on Tuesday, 6 December 2005, depart for Abidjan to attend the
International Working Group on Côte d'Ivoire; an effort by the African Union
and United Nations to work with the people of Côte D'Ivoire in seeking a
political solution to their current challenges. Minister Dlamini Zuma returns
