President Thabo Mbeki to Conclude Visit to Mali ahead of Visit to Côte D'Ivoire.

Bamako - South African President Thabo Mbeki, accompanied by Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, will conclude his visit to Mali today Sunday, 4 December 2005 ahead of his visit to Côte D'Ivoire.

The visit to Côte D'Ivoire by Presidents Thabo Mbeki, Olusegan Obasanjo and Mamadou Tandja follows the meeting in Abidjan on 15 November 2005 during which the three Presidents held discussions with roleplayers in order to assist the Côte d'Ivorians find a common candidate for the post of Prime Minister.

The decision to nominate a new Prime Minister emanates from the 6 October 2005 AU Peace and Security Council Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
