Mrs Mbeki represents South Africa at the Funeral of the late
Mrs Stella Obasanjo Nigeria - South African First Lady, Mrs Zanele Mbeki
accompanied by Deputy Minister of Safety and Security Susan Shabangu, left South
Africa on Thursday 27 October to represent the South African government at the
funeral of the late Mrs Stella Obasanjo, First Lady of Nigeria, scheduled for
today, Friday 28 October 2005. Mrs Stella Obasanjo passed away in Spain on Sunday,
23 October 2005. President and Mrs Thabo Mbeki reiterate, on behalf of the
government and people of South Africa, their heartfelt condolences to President
Olusegun Obasanjo, the government and people of Nigeria during this time of bereavement. Issued
