President Mbeki Extends Condolences to Nigeria following a plane crash on Saturday,10 December 2005

Tshwane- President Thabo Mbeki today, Sunday 11 December 2005, extended South Africa's sympathies to President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, after more than a 100 people were killed following a plane crash on Saturday.

"The government and people of South Africa joins the international community in expressing shock and sadness at the deaths of over a 100 people following a plane crash on Saturday.

During this difficult moment, the thoughts and prayers of the government and people of South Africa reach out to the government and people of Nigeria and in particular families of those who lost their loved ones.

Accordingly the government and people of South Africa extend their heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Nigeria and in particular members of the bereaved families during this hour of need", concluded President Mbeki.
