Two South African seriously wounded in the London Bomb Blasts

Tshwane - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been informed by the British authorities today, Friday July 8 of the injury to two South Africans in London following the terrorist attacks on Thursday 7 July. The two South Africans are currently in two separate hospitals in London.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, on behalf of the government wishes the two South Africans a speedy recovery. In the meantime Minister Dlamini Zuma has directed that South African Consular officers based in London visit the two victims in hospital this morning.

The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Section in Pretoria is currently in a process of contacting family members to advise them of these developments and to provide the necessary support. At this stage therefore it is not possible to release the names of the two victims to the public until such time the next of kin has been informed.
