Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka Visits Zimbabwe

Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka left Pretoria for Harare, Zimbabwe this afternoon.

She is scheduled to hold discussions with her counterpart, Vice-President Joyce Mujuru and to pay a courtesy call on President Robert Mugabe. The visit is part of ongoing consultations between the two countries.

Deputy President Mlambo-Ngcuka headed the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Parliamentary observer team during the last elections in Zimbabwe.

She returns to South Africa later this evening.
