Department of Foreign Affairs Complies with the PFMA regarding Public Entities

PUBLISHED IN INTERNAL QUESTION PAPER NO 22 OF JUNE 2005

MR WJ SEREMANE (DA) TO ASK THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS:

1. Whether, as required by section 55 (1) of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Act 1 of 1999, all the public entities for which she is responsible have submitted their statements by 31 May 2005; if not, (a) which entities have failed to comply with the requirements of this section and (b) why have they failed to do so;

2. Whether she has taken any steps to assist any of the abovementioned entities; if not, why not; if so, what steps?

REPLY:

1. Yes. The only public entity listed according to section 55 (1) of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Act of 1999 is the African Renaissance Fund which according to the records of the Department submitted its financial statement by 31 May 2005.

(a) The department does not have other entities listed

(b) Same as the above

2. Not Applicable.
