South African Foreign Minister Dlamini Zuma Pays a Courtesy Call on President Laurent Gbagbo

ABIDJAN - South African Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma today 16 February 2006 paid a courtesy call on the President Laurent Gbagbo of Côte D'Ivoire in Abidjan the Capital of Côte D'Ivoire.

Minister Dlamini-Zuma is in Côte D'Ivoire as part of the International Working Group on Côte D'Ivoire scheduled to meet on Friday 17th February to assess progress regarding the implementation of the peace process in Côte D'Ivoire.

Addressing the media following the courtesy call on President Gbagbo, Minister Dlamini Zuma indicated that she was "appraised by President Gbagbo on the current political situation in Côte D'Ivoire".

Minister Dlamini Zuma is scheduled later today to meet with the Prime Minister of Côte D'Ivoire Charles Konan Banny in the Capital Abidjan. Minister Dlamini Zuma is leading a South Africa Government Delegation, which includes the Deputy Director General of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Duarte.
