IBSA meeting to focus on public administration partnerships

Public Service and Administration Minister Geraldine Fraser-Moleketi will meet with her Indian and Brazilian counterparts on Monday, 18 and Tuesday, 19 December 2006 at the Glenburn Lodge, Johannesburg, for talks on the establishment of an India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Working Group on Public Administration.

The idea of an IBSA Working Group on Public Administration is contained in a resolution adopted during the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of India, Brazil and South Africa in March 2006, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The envisaged IBSA Working Group on Public Administration would seek to prioritise the centrality of democracy and good governance as key to healthy public and civil services - the fundamental basis for supporting other sectors of government.
