President Thabo Mbeki Wishes Prime Minister Arial Sharon a Speedy Recovery

Tshwane- South African President Thabo Mbeki, today, Thursday, 5 January 2006, learned with sadness of the deteriorating health of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

In a message of support to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and the Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, President Mbeki said, "Please accept the thoughts and prayers of the South African Government and people in this trying moment in your life".

"We join the international community in general and the people of Israel in particular in wishing you a speedy recovery. It is our wish and hope that you will recover to resume your responsibility in leading the Government and people of Israel, " concluded President Mbeki.
