President Mbeki expresses Condolences to Lebo Mathosa's Family

President Thabo Mbeki today expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the late artist, Lebo Mathosa.

The President said Mathosa's untimely death constitutes a profound loss to the entire nation as she was one of the path finders of post apartheid cultural expression.

In this connection, the President called upon young South Africans to draw inspiration from the positive contribution that Mathosa made to society. He said Mathosa's vibrant and positive spirit illustrated by her work is an example of how young people can and must use their diverse skills and abilities to contribute to the development of South Africa.
