Minister Dlamini Zuma to pay Courtesy Call on President of Niger Mamadou Tandja ahead of Visit ot Germany

Niamey - South African Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will today Thursday 6 July 2006 pay a courtesy call on the President of Niger, Pres Mamadou Tandja in Niamey Niger.

Minister Dlamini Zuma was part of a South African government delegation led by President Thabo Mbeki on a state visit to Niger to consolidate political and economic bilateral relations with the West African country within the context of consolidation the African Developmental Agenda.

Upon completion of the State visit by President Thabo Mbeki on 5 July 2006, Minister Dlamini Zuma was directed by President Thabo Mbeki to remain behind in Niger to finalise discussions with President Mamadou Tandja.

On conclusion of the visit Niger today Minister Dlamini Zuma will proceed to Germany ahead of the official visit and the unveiling of the 2010 World Cup Emblem by President Thabo Mbeki. The President Mbeki's delegation to Germany will also expected to include Mrs Zanele Mbeki, Ministers Makhenkesi Stofile and Sidney Mufamadi and is scheduled for 7 to 9 July 2006. President Thabo Mbeki is expected in Germany on Friday 7 July 2006.
