South Africa's Minister of Foreign Affairs arrives in Washington,
D.C, ahead of President Mbeki's Visit Washington, D.C.: South Africa's Foreign
Minister, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, arrived in Washington, D.C., ahead of President
Mbeki who will hold political and economical discussions with his United States
of America counterpart, President George Bush in Washington D.C, on Friday, 8
December 2006. President Mbeki will in consultation with President Bush
discuss, within the context of South Africa's priority the promotion of North-South
Cooperation in support of the African agenda. It is expected that the discussions
will also include, amongst others: - The status of the bilateral political
and economic relations between the two countries;
- Conflict resolution
and peace keeping in Africa;
- Multilateral cooperation including developments
in the World Trade Organisation negotiations;
- South Africa's accession
to the non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council; and
- Other
issues of international concern.
