Mr LB Labuschagne (DA) to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs:

(1) How many (a) approved posts of Deputy Director General are there in her department and (b) of these posts were approved for (i) head office and (ii) missions;

(2) whether any of the incumbents of the posts approved for head office are serving at the missions; if so, why? N688E

REPLY:

1) a)10 approved posts
(i) 10 at Head Office
(ii) 0 in Missions

2) None. However, there were two (2) Deputy Directors-General who were occupying the approved posts at head office and are currently serving in Missions at the level of Chief Director with effect from April 2006.
