President Thabo Mbeki extends Condolences to Algeria following Terror Attacks

 Pretoria - President Thabo Mbeki today. Monday 10 September extended his deepest condolences to President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of the Democratic Peoples Republic  of Algeria following terrorist attacks in the Algeria on Saturday and Sunday 9-10 September 2007 leaving over 45 people dead and scores of others wounded.

In his message of condolences, President Mbeki said “The Government of the Republic of South Africa condemns in the strongest terms the heinous terrorist attacks that occurred in Dellys and Batna in the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria.

On behalf of the Government and people of South Africa please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of human life.  The Government and people of South Africa express our deepest sympathy to the Government and people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Algeria and in particular to the families of those who lost their loved and wishing those wounded a speedy recovery” concluded President Mbeki.
