President Thabo Mbeki conveys condolences to President Kabila

Pretoria – South African President Thabo Mbeki today Saturday 6 October 2007, on behalf of the government and people, conveyed his deepest condolences to President Joseph Kabila, the government and people of the Democratic Republic of Congo following the plane crash in eastern Kinshasa on Thursday 4 October 2007.

In a message of support to President Kabila, President Mbeki said, “Please accept the heartfelt sympathy of the South African government and people following the plane crash in the residential suburb of Kingasani earlier in the week.”

“The South African government and people are saddened by the loss of innocent lives and damage to property as a result of this accident.”

“The thoughts and prayers of the government and people of South Africa are with those who have lost loves ones or sustained injuries following this crash,” concluded President Thabo Mbeki.
