Minister Dlamini Zuma Concludes Visit to Guinea Conakry

Conakry- South African Foreign Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will later today, Friday 9 March conclude her visit to Guinea Conakry where she held bilateral political discussion with her counterpart and was briefed of current political developments by both the President and Prime Minister of Guinea Conakry.

Minister Dlamini Zuma held bilateral political and economic discussions with Guinea Conakry Foreign Minister Mamadou Conte within the context of the existing Joint Bilateral Commission aimed at regulating political, economic and cultural links between South Africa and Guinea Conakry.

In addition, Minister Dlamini Zuma was briefed of current political developments in Guinea Conakry following unrest which had engulfed the country in the past few weeks. In this regard, Minister Dlamini Zuma held discussions with Guinea Conakry's President and Prime Minister.

Minister Dlamini Zuma is expected to return to South Africa on Saturday 10 March 2007 ahead of the scheduled working visit next week to Saudi Arabia by President Thabo Mbeki.
