Media Advisory: Deputy President arrives in South Korea on an
Official Visit Seoul , South Korea - The Deputy President of the Republic
of South Africa Ms Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has today, 2 May 2007, arrived in South
Korea for a two-day official visit from 2 - 4 May 2007. Deputy President
Mlambo-Ngcuka is accompanied by Minister Ivy Matsepe-Casaburri ; Deputy Ministers
Aziz Pahad, Derek Hanekom, Gert Oosthuizen, Rob Davies and a business delegation.
The visit comes within the context of national efforts to ensure a faster
and shared economic growth through AsgiSA and JIPSA. Accordingly, the visit
will focus on the promotion of the Accelerated and Shared Growth Initiative of
South Africa (ASGISA), and is also aimed at obtaining institutional support for
the Joint Initiative for Priority Skills Acquisition (JIPSA), especially in Information
Communication Technology (ICT). She will also strengthen relations with the signing
of three agreements.
