AFRICAN UNION FOREIGN MINISTERS RETREAT

South African Foreign Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will from Tuesday - Thursday 8-10 May 2007 host a Retreat of the African Union Ministers of Foreign Affairs and 10th Extraordinary Session of the Executive Council of AU Foreign Ministers at the Zimbali Lodge in Kwazulu-Natal.

Foreign Ministers of the African Union were tasked by the Summit of Heads of State and Government in January 2007 to meet to evaluate progress towards the political and economic integration of Africa.

At the Retreat, Foreign Ministers will deliberate upon this matter and make recommendations and proposals to the Heads of State and Government who will meet in Ghana in July this year.

Media arrangements

A media centre will be set up at the Sibiya Casino from where media will be transported to the Marquee at Zimbali Lodge for the following opportunities:

Tuesday 8 May 08h00 for 09h00 Opening plenary of Ministerial Retreat

Thursday 10 May 08h00 for 09h00 Opening plenary of Ministerial meeting

Media Accreditation

All media wanting to participate in the afore-listed opportunities will have to be accredited.

Media accreditation is open from Monday 7 May 2007. Media will have to gather at the media centre at Sibiya Casino from there they will be transported to the Marquee at Zimbali Lodge for accreditation.
