President Thabo Mbeki will host German Chancellor Angela Merkel for political, economic and trade discussions at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Friday 5 October 2007.

Chancellor Merkel is scheduled to arrive in South Africa on Thursday 4 October 2007.

Chancellor Merkel is also scheduled to visit Cape Town while in South Africa.

A more detailed programme will be released as soon as it has been finalised.

 E-mails to be sent to pillaim@foreign.gov.za.

 Live photo accreditation cards will be produced and media will be informed soonest as to the venue of the accreditation centre and dates of times of operation.
